Crowe Farm Retreats : 25 Years Celebrating Art & Nature On Display 11 May - 10 June 2018 in the Main Gallery
For twenty five years, a group of artists has gathered every autumn in Minnesota for a long weekend of painting and camaraderie. It all started at Solinger's Resort on Lake Lida. Then the location changed to Bob Crowe's family lake cabin. Most recently, the Crowe farm has hosted the gathering and has come to be most intimately identified with it.
The Crowe Farm Retreats have included a variety of participants over the years—such as Warren Kessler, Jessica Wachter, and the late Bob Kurkowski—but a core of longtime attendees has made the Retreats their annual tradition: Jim Conaway, Bob Crowe, Zhimin Guan, Dan Jones, Paul Kellett, and Carl Oltvedt. The Rourke is proud to present selections of recent work from these six artists as well as a display which fondly recalls the many retreats they've shared.
