The Rourke Art Gallery + Museum is pleased to present Recent Work, an exhibition of oil paintings and watercolors by George Pfeifer in the museum’s Main Gallery.
George Pfeifer was born in Fargo in 1947. He lives in St. Paul, Minnesota with his wife, Sharon. He’s been making paintings, watercolors, drawings and prints for five decades. When not in the studio, George works in residential remodeling as a designer and project manager and has also restored his own 1883 home in the historic district of St. Paul. Solo Exhibitions Pfeifer’s first solo exhibition was at Rourke Gallery in 1966. Since then, he’s presented forty-four solo exhibitions at the Rourke and its former affiliate, the Plains Art Museum. His other solo exhibition venues have included: The Fargo Gallery; M State, Fergus Falls; Jamestown Art Center; Second Crossing Gallery in Valley City; North Dakota State University; Bismarck Art and Galleries Association; Suzanne Kohn Gallery in Minneapolis; Mikkelson Gallery in Washington, DC; Ecce Gallery in Fargo. Juried and Group Exhibitions Pfeifer’s numerous group exhibitions have included: The Annual Midwestern Invitational Exhibition of Fine Art (Rourke); The Red River Annual (Rourke, Red River Art Center, Plains); The North Dakota Annual in Grand Forks; The Port Townsend, WA Juried Exhibit; The Fine Arts Biennial in Valley City; The Dulin Gallery in Knoxville, TN;The Minnesota State Fair in St. Paul; Newvember (Ecce).
