Jenny Junker is a printmaker and artist originally from Mandan, North Dakota, now based in the Fargo–Moorhead area. She earned her BFA with an emphasis in printmaking from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Her work focuses on screen printing, with each layer hand-drawn and pulled, resulting in small edition runs.
Junker creates under the name Yellow Chair Press at her studio in Aptitude Creative Studios in West Acres mall, which is managed by The Arts Partnership. Her work has appeared in group exhibitions at regional venues including The Rourke Art Gallery + Museum, Plains Art Museum, as well as local coffee shops and other community spaces. Drawing inspiration from everyday life, she collects small observations and moments that lend themselves to print. Her work often incorporates a sense of nostalgia, wit, and humor, inviting viewers to connect with the pieces in a light, approachable way. |

Artist Statement
Somewhere Between Then and Whatever is a collection of screen prints that live in the in-between: between memory and nonsense. The images in this series of work pull from a wide range of subjects that may seem out of place, feel familiar, or oddly specific. They operate like passing thoughts or feelings: things that surface without warning and don’t always make sense when you try to pin them down. Whimsy, humor, nostalgia, and visual curiosity sit side by side, often without clear explanation. This body of work is rooted in the freedom to make “whatever, forever.” Viewers are invited to bring their own memories and associations to the work. Any meaning that emerges is welcome, but not required. Ultimately, Somewhere Between Then and Whatever celebrates the joy of making as an exploration of memory, play, and the quiet permission to create simply because it feels good. --Jenny Junker, 2026 |
