Linoleum Cuts, with Cameron Peterson2 to 4 p.m.
First four Sundays in June — 7, 14, 21, 28 Duration: 2 hours per session (x4) Course fee: $160* Age requirement: 16+ (One full need-based scholarship is available for students experiencing financial hardship. If interested students qualify for SNAP benefits, they are eligible for full scholarship. Please contact Cady at [email protected] to inquire.) This class is streamlined to show you the basics of linoleum cut (or linocut) printing, so you're ready to create them at home. We'll start by learning how to transfer an image, set up a registration, properly tear paper, and hand burnish. We will be printing one black-and-white edition and one color edition. No previous printing experience is necessary. Whether you're an old hand at the press or print curious, this class has something for you. Supply/Proper Attire: Students should also bring a sketch that will fit into a 4 x 6 composition. All supplies will be provided by the instructor. Please wear old/project clothing or an apron; this process can be messy. * Cancel your registration up to 14 days prior to class day by emailing [email protected] for a partial refund. About Your Instructor: Cameron Peterson has been a practicing artist and printmaker in the region since about 2001. He enjoys teaching his techniques to other people and seeing what they can create. Monotyping has been a central part of his printmaking practice since the beginning; he enjoys reduction cuts as a yin to the yang of the fluidness in his monotypes. |
