DIY Zine Workshop5 to 7 p.m. on Thurs. 26 June 2025
Duration: 2 hours Create and trade your own zine (pronounced "zeen")! The Red River Creatives Collective will discuss their self-published and distributed zine The Northern Mirror and then demonstrate how to make an eight page mini-zine using various methods of collage, doodling and writing. Attendees will have the option to make copies of their zine to trade with others at the end. This event is open to all, but geared towards adults. Free-will donations encouraged. The Northern Mirror is a collaborative zine which collects submissions through an open call process that prioritizes Fargo-Moorhead locals, as well as the equitable representation of folks from diverse identities. It has been produced since 2021. Each issue follows a different theme and contains essays, poems, reviews, photos, illustrations, community resources, and more! The zine is distributed around the area at shops and cafes for free-will donation. Issue no. 12 out now! Guerrilla Embroidery Workshop5 to 7 p.m. on Thurs. 24 July 2025
Duration: 2 hours A crash course in Craftivism! Join the Red River Creatives Collective for an opportunity to learn four basic embroidery stitches to create quick and creative pieces with a message. Use these skills to develop a more active role in your communities and neighborhoods. Attendees are encouraged to disperse their work in a creative way, such as by sending to local politicians or posting on community bulletin boards. This event is free but donations are encouraged. |
