Zhimin Guan : Pilgrimage to Nature
On view 15 November 2019 - 12 January 2020 in the Main Gallery
I’ve embraced the American landscape and the spirit which it embodies as my major subject. In this latest series of work “Pilgrimage to Nature,” I’ve focused on the National Parks. The magnificent mountains and rivers exude a mysterious and unfathomable passion, the majestic plains and forests are full of hidden treasures.
“National parks are the best idea we ever had.
Absolutely American, absolutely democratic,
they reflect us at our best rather than our worst.”
