The Rourke's Archives & Reading Room are beginning to make our institution's 61 year material history available available to students, artists, collectors, scholars, and guests. With our exhibition and events files (available for browsing!), our collection of over 300 texts on various subjects (another 300 recently donated books are being processed for display now!), and small rotating exhibitions, we offer this a special space within the museum to reflect upon the incredible artistic legacy of our region.
Thanks to Legacy Grant funds from the Lake Region Arts Council, we have acquired key pieces of equipment as we embark upon the exciting work of digitizing our archive collections, making our books searchable online, and providing a computer workstation for artists and scholars of all ages. We encourage you to visit and enjoy a special display of Surrealist artwork from our Permanent Collections to honor a recent gift of texts on Surrealism and Dada. |
