PHILIP J. THOMPSON - Biography

Philip J. Thompson was born in Bismarck, North Dakota in 1933. He received his BA from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota in 1955 and his MFA from the University of Iowa in 1958. Philip was a longtime professor and the founding faculty member of the art department at Augsburg University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After retiring from Augsburg, he continued to live and work in Minneapolis with his wife and fellow artist Joy A. Thompson until her passing in 2019.
