The 2025 Heart Show: "Tainted Love"

The Rourke will be presenting a group exhibition in celebration of Valentine's Day in February 2025. With regard to content, we expect that entries will include some reference to love, the holiday and the saint who remains loosely connected with it, Cupid, Eros, and the retinue of Aphrodite, flowers ... et cetera, but this year we invite you to consider focusing your efforts on portrayals of love that's gone bad—à la the classic new wave tune, "Tainted Love," the subtitle for this year's exhibit! Interested artists may submit up to 3 artworks for consideration. To display as many pieces from as many artists as possible, we ask that the works not exceed 24 inches in any dimension. All artwork must be for sale. The usual Rourke rate of commission will apply to all entries (60/40 - artist/gallery). To have your artworks considered for the exhibit, complete the entry form at the bottom of this page. The submission deadline is 15 January 2025.

​Notice of acceptance will be sent by 5 p.m. on 17 January 2025 and accepted artworks must arrive on or by Friday 24 January 2025. Hand deliveries may be made during Public Viewing Hours at the museum (1 to 5 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays) or by scheduling a drop off appointment.

Artists are responsible for affixing appropriate hanging hardware on two-dimensional artworks or wall-mounted three-dimensional artworks. Artists are also responsible for all shipping or delivery expenses to and from The Rourke.

The exhibition will be on view from Friday 31 January through Sunday 2 March 2025.
