Indigo & Shibori Studio with Linae Enockson

9 a.m. to 12 noon on Sat. 10 Jul. 2021
Course fee: $185*
Duration: 3 hours
Get ready to get blue (Indigo blue, that is!) in this extended studio experience. Participants will set up their own indigo dye vat, will learn to prepare fibers and textiles for dyeing, create surface designs using several types of resists, and learn about care and maintenance of indigo-dyed fabric and their indigo vats. Shibori patterning techniques, such as Itajime, Arashi, and Mokume-Kane will be taught on silk, cotton, and linen. Participants will receive all supplies necessary to set up an indigo vat of their own, Shibori tools and textiles for several completed projects included in their supply/tools fee. Dress to get messy!
