Papermaking Studio with Linae Enockson

Get ready to get your hands (and probably your shoes!) wet in this extended studio experience. Participants will take an in-depth look at hand papermaking using a variety of paper pulps, inclusions, and tools. Pulping of materials will be covered, as well as setting up a vat and the full process for pulling paper sheets through drying and studio/equipment care. Western vs. Eastern papermaking will be discussed, as well as adding colorants, sizing, surface treatments. Guidance for creating handmade paper for printmaking, watercolor painting, sculpture, and more will be covered. Participants will receive a comprehensive, expertly curated equipment and supply list to begin acquiring items for their home papermaking studio!
