The Rourke Gallery first opened its doors on 18 June 1960 in the Moorhead Daily News building on Third Street. The trajectory of the visual arts in the Red River Valley was forever changed. To celebrate and honor the history of this integral institution, we will embark on collecting the memories, voices, and traditions of its storied past. These records and memories will become a part of the public record and will be available for generations to come in The Rourke Archives.
